#58: Nerd Shirts.

By some small miracle, you MAY not have realized yet that I'm a huge nerd. I love Star Wars, I love Nintendo, I love Superman, and....I even love math. One of the funnest (yes, I know "funnest" is not a real word) ways to display my nerdiness is through T-Shirts. Over the years, I have collected a fair amount of nerd shirts (mostly from other people for my birthday). Today I decided I would display my nerd shirts in their full glory.

Star Wars T-Shirts:
My favorite Star Wars shirt.

In real 3-D!
The dysfunctional Brady Bunch.

Notice Chewie on the drums.

Nintendo T-Shirts:
Pun intended.
My mom thinks she is sooooo funny.

It's a real place. I've admitted myself four times.

Kipp Dynamite T-Shirts:
I think I do an awesome Kipp Dynamite impression (I'm so humble). For two straight years, my best friend Paul and I spoke almost entirely in our Kipp and Napoleon voices, until we realized that everyone else in the world had moved on to Nacho Libre.

Superhero T-Shirts:

I wear this to overcompensate for my lack of real muscles.

Catchy Phrase T-Shirts:
Most people never comment on this shirt, although I wish they would.
This shirt is only funny if you are an accountant...and even then, it's not THAT funny.
Diane doesn't let me wear this one anymore.

Other Nerdy T-Shirts:

I actually get more comments on this shirt than any other--once people realize what it is.

The man. The legend. The Walken.

#57: Some more "Draw Something" drawings.

Happy Sunday morning! As I mentioned last week, I have been loving the new smartphone app "Draw Something". Well, this week I drew some more drawings that I wanted to share. Have a great day and may the force be with you. :)
My favorite muppet.
Britain's greatest singer....well, other than Susan Boyle.
Blink and he's gone.
NOT supposed to look like Moses.
In honor of "The Avengers" coming out in two weeks!
Um....also in honor of "The Avengers" coming out in two weeks?
She's definitely no Belle, but still not too bad for a Disney princess.
Greatest artist of the Renaissance.
Heeeeeeere's Johhny!

#56: Elder Holland speaks at Harvard - must watch!

If I had to choose only one apostle to listen to, it would be Elder Jeffrey R. Holland. When I listen to him speak, I always feel the Spirit. His faith, conviction, love of the Lord, and great sense of humor are all evident when he speaks. Before he was an apostle, Elder Holland was president of Brigham Young University. During his tenure as president of BYU, he gave some AMAZING talks that you can listen to (and download) here.
Elder Jeffrey R. Holland.
Not only is a great speaker, he also has the best chin in all the apostleship.
My friend Judd sent me the video link shown below of a speech that Elder Holland gave a few weeks ago at Harvard Law School (with a question & answer session after the video). He addressed difficult topics such as polygamy, Proposition 8 and the Church's role in politics, as well as bearing a powerful testimony of the gospel. I am so grateful that the Church is led by men of this caliber! Thank you for your faithful example, Elder Holland! We love you!

#55: My new favorite app: Draw Something!

There are apps. And then there are APPS. One such APP recently came out, and it has instantly catapulted to my all-time favorite list: Draw Something. An awesome hybrid of pictionary and hangman, Draw Something is a collaborative drawing game between fellow aspiring iPhone artists. Essentially, the game gives you three words (easy, medium, and hard) to draw. Depending on which level of difficulty you choose, you will get more or less "coins" if your partner guesses your picture correctly. This weekend I have had an absolute blast drawing pictures for my friends and family, having them guess the drawings, and then having them send me back drawings of their own for me to guess. You can draw at your own pace and you can make the drawings as simple or complex as you want. Since I fancy myself somewhat of an artist, I like to make the drawings as complex as I can. See below for some of my favorite drawings that I did over the weekend. Yay for electronic drawing!
Jim Carrey's greatest role.

Smurfette.

In honor of all the people celebrating a birthday this year.

Fat Brad Pitt.

Reminds me of a Ryan Shupe song.

Puff Daddy.

NOT James Dean.

Diane is terrified of snakes, but I couldn't resist.

Quite possibly the richest woman in the world.

The greatest political satirist of our day.

Last but not least, Darth Maul. For those of you who are wondering why the drawing only looks half done, it's because it IS only half done. I discovered that if you erase and start over too many times in Draw Something, you run out of "ink and it sends the drawing anyway! Doggone ink restrictions!
